HB 390 Special Education Scholarship; Rep. Jonathan McNiven

Click here to track the progress of this bill

This bill allows parents with students who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to choose a school that they determine is right for their child. Parents who want this option would inform their resident school district that they are choosing a special education scholarship.

The resident school district shall pay in four quarterly payments an amount equal to 90% of the per-pupil average spending into an account that the parent would direct spending to pay for their child’s education. The scholarship value would be approximately $10,000 per year.
